Under the direction of the Clinical Manager or Director, coordinates patient care and staffing needs for areas. Ensures that patient care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standard of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards. The charge nurse oversees employees and the day to day operations within the department. The charge nurse participates in the interviewing and hiring process, and has input in the evaluation of employees and staff disciplinary process within the department. Charge Nurse in this department provides care for adolescent patients age 17, young adult patients age 18-39, adult patients age 40-64, and geriatric patients age 65 and older.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from a school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Current Missouri licensure required. BLS certification required. Chemotherapy certification within one year of employment preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1 year med/surg experience required to be considered.
