The Washington, DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC) has an exciting opportunity for a Research Manager in our HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials division. The Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DCVAMC) is among the most visible and dynamic facilities in the VA system. As a tertiary care facility, DCVAMC provides acute general and specialized services in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, dentistry and numerous other subspecialties. The Medical Center has a multi-million dollar research program that supports more than 100 investigators and 300 active research projects. The DCVAMC is home to one of two VA War Related Illness and Injury Study Centers (WRIISC).

As a Research Manger you will be a member of a team responsible for the management, oversight and performance evaluation, training and monitor of domestic and international clinical research sites that are a part of selected networks that participate in NIH-funded trials in HIV prevention and therapeutics as well as other infectious disease research. As a member of this exciting team you will work with on-site coordinators to conduct research site performance, provide training, technical assistance and advice to site coordinators concerning protocol implementation, regulatory and data issues, and quality management. This is a federal term appointment and does not carry federal career status. While this position is headquartered at the DCVAMC on-site monitoring is required at clinical research sites throughout the United States, with travel estimated at 10 weeks per year.

You must have graduated from a nationally accredited BSN program, be a United States Citizen and hold a US unrestricted registered nurse license. Your knowledge and experience with federal regulations pertaining to clinical research development and conduct of clinical research and design and management of clinical trials will benefit the research teams you are working with. A solid knowledge base in the field of HIV/AIDS and clinical trials is a definite advantage to this position.
