Detailed Position Description
Performs patient assessment including patient histories and physicals, order and perform diagnostic procedures that facilitate the Pre-Admission Testing process while using an interdisciplinary approach i.e. anesthesia, physicians, nursing staff.
Direct patient care with a focus on pre/PACU area.
Maintains records
Discharge planning, community resource referrals and education
Establishes plan of care and implements interventions
Customer Service
Scheduling staff to maximize coverage within budget resources.
Offers educational development to staff, patients, families
Communicates and collaborates clearly and effectively to enhance patient care and facility operations among all individuals associated with the surgical center environment.
Daily operations and supervisory role over PAT and pre/post op staff.
Participate in staff management, yearly evaluations, quality initiatives, daily operations.
Position Requirements
One to three years experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
One to three years experience in critical care nursing and or pre/PACU nursing preferred.
One to three years in managerial role is preferred.
Demonstration of quality care and leadership skills in prior positions.
Excellent interpersonal skills, critical thinker and problem solver, innovative, acts as facilitator to make changes within department, team player.
Must have computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies.
Education Requirements
Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing
License/Certification Requirements
Current Ohio Nursing License
Nurse practitioner Certification
