Dell Children´s Medical CenterResponsibilities 1. Directs the direct human and financial resources of the Clinical Service Line(s); coordinates the use of human and financial resources under other Seton directors to ensure the Service Line(s) operates efficiently, effectively, safely, and timely to meet the needs of patients and families of the Service; manages contracts and service agreements associated with the service line(s). 2. Partners with Administration, Medical Leadership and the Service Line Executive Team to develop short and long range strategic plans for the service, operating and capital budgets, and an integrated strategic and financial plan for the service. Collaborates with Seton Planning to develop volume projections. 3. Establishes operating performance targets and metrics for the service, in conjunction with Administration and the Service Line Executive team,, including clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and finance; measures and monitors performance against targets and benchmarks; assures achievement of service line goals and objectives; ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. 4. Assesses the need for, designs, operates, and evaluates the clinical and business processes used to support the Clinical Service Line(s) and ensures compliance within acceptable range of variation. 5. Evaluates, develops, and adapts the clinical and business processes of the Clinical Service Line(s) to meet the ever changing healthcare environment and needs of patients and families. Provides overall accountability for staffing levels, retention, structure and skill mix for direct staff. Implements new and revises current programs and services set out in business plan. 6. Aligns the processes and protocols for care delivery across the continuum; interfaces with appropriate processes within and outside of Seton. 7. Creates and develops an empowered work team across all areas of the Clinical Service Line(s). Hires, evaluates competencies, and develops direct staff; collaborates with the hiring, evaluation, and development of interdisciplinary staff involved in the clinical service delivery. 8. Develops and markets expanded and/or new services in response to innovation, technology, strategic developments, or compensation consistent with the goals of the Clinical Service and/or Seton Family of Hospitals. Collaborates to develop and carry out a fund development plan to support service line growth and sustainability. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or Business is required. Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or Business is preferred. Seven (7) years of leadership experience in healthcare within the specific service line(s) to be managed is required. Experience leading diverse teams, including physician stakeholders, is required. Experience in pediatric healthcare preferred. Preferred degree can substitute for two (2) years of the required experience. Preferred Qualifications Leadership and program development experience in the field of Cardiology and/or Cardiac Surgery. Experience specific to this field in pediatrics is preferred. Skills Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements is required. Knowledge of operations management, contract management, human resource management, and financial management is required. Good communication, public relations, group facilitation, team building, business and strategic planning skills are required. Must be computer literate, with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software preferred.
