The Division of Critical Care at Bassett Healthcare, in beautiful Cooperstown, New York is seeking additional Intensivists to provide patient care in our 14-bed adult medical/surgical/cardiac ICU. The goal of this dynamic division is to provide 24/7 on-site Intensivist coverage. These physicians will work with a diverse patient population, as well as training medical students and housestaff.Approximately four hours from New York City in the Central Leatherstocking Region of New York, Bassett Healthcare and affiliates is a network of physicians, providers, hospitals and community health centers in eight counties, covering 5,000 square miles. The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital (doing business as Bassett Healthcare), the foundation for this network, is a 180-bed, acute care inpatient teaching facility in Cooperstown. In 2009, Bassett Healthcare became a clinical campus of Columbia Universitys College of Physicians and Surgeons. Columbia and Bassett have maintained a formal affiliation since 1947, actively participating in joint teaching and research initiatives for more than six decades. The Bassett Physician Group is comprised of a full-time, salaried, closed staff numbering 240 physicians and other doctorate-level professionals in a multi-specialty group practice.The Bassett Clinic is located on the same campus as the hospital and provides outpatient primary and specialty care. Additionally, Bassett offers 24-hour emergency and trauma care, comprehensive cancer care and heart care, dialysis, and most medical and surgical specialties in Cooperstown. The Bassett Research Institute conducts programs in basic science, clinical science, and population and public health studies. Around the region, the network provides primary, preventive, and outpatient care at 28 health centers and operates 13 school-based health centers. In addition to MIBH, acute inpatient care is provided at network sites: OConnor Hospital in Delhi, Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Little Falls Hospital and Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney.
