New opening for one full time child and adolescent psychiatrist (or two daily half-time applicants) to work regular weekday daytime-only hours with longer-term inpatients (average length of stay 30 days). A great informal peer-group of child psychiatrists are on-site full time. Enjoy significant clinical autonomy in a setting respectful of physicians. This facility is one of the rare settings in which the physician still heads the team and is not just a member of it. There is little managed care.Another nice thing about this position is that, unlike outpatient positions, the work hours are all weekday daytime. As you probably already know, outpatient children and adolescents in most settings want to come in after school only, or after work if their parents are working, and that typically requires evening hours. We dont.There also is NO call evenings, nights or weekends.Of course, if you wish, you may see private patients after-hours, and even use your office without charge.The facility is located in mid-Westchester, and is an easy highway-only commute from Manhattan, and all of Westchester, Bronx, Queens and Rockland counties. Full benefits are available. The largest and best malpractice insurance we can reasonably locate is provided without cost.
