Bay Area Medical Center is a rural community hospital located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Marinette, Wisconsin on the border of upper Michigan. Located 45 minutes from Green Bay this area is a popular resort destination for golfing, hunting, boating, fishing and snowmobiling. The ED annual volume is 23,000, single physician coverage with a physician extender 7 days a week during peak hours. The hospital has a large service area in Wisconsin and bording Michigan. BAMC has 100 inpatient beds and enjoys an excellent payor mix. In patient satisfaction surveys, BAMC consistently ranks in the top 3% of hospitals.Emergency Medicine has departmental status within the medical staff. A hospitalist program is a new addition to the staff. The acuity is mixed. We have been providing emergency care here since 1999.
