Location: Payson, Arizona 95 miles North on Highway 87 in the cool pines of Arizona! Responsible for the completion of the routine work load in the performance of waived, moderate and high complexity testing in the processing and specimen collection areas according to established laboratory policies and procedures, performs quality control and preventive maintenance, and inventories laboratory supplies. The exact nature of the work may vary depending upon the workload and the assigned duties. Acts as a General laboratory Supervisor per CLIA. Microbiology experience preferred. Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSMust be licensed by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist Medical Technology (ASCP), AMT, HEW, NCA or equivalent and possess the necessary requirements to qualify as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act Standards, or have completed a recognized Medical Technology program, be eligible to sit for the MT licensing exam and pass within 6 months of hire. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSPreferred characteristics include two years of experience as a Medical Technologist. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Microbiology experience preferred. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSMT (ASCP), AMT, HEW, or NCABLS Certification preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, manual dexterity and mobility, frequent reaching, stooping and bending. Good visual acuity.
