Supervisor-HSH House represents administration for making administrative decisions and for interpreting and applying policies and patient care practice outside normal business hours; provides overall supervision of HSH operations. Makes and implements decisions based on house-wide information, patient needs, and available resources. Possesses advanced skills in assessment and appropriate application of respiratory care services. The Supervisor-HSH House is responsible for the coordination of respiratory care services on their shift. Resolves technical problems and performs quality improvement studies. Records treatment and diagnostic information in the medical record. Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment, problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills; maintains a recognized area of clinical expertise and uses it in practice, teaching, and consultation; serves as a role model and provides positive influence to initiate and facilitate change. Performs other duties as needed.Job Specifications: AA/AS Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Bachelors Degree or in progress. Two years of clinical experience required. Respiratory Care Board, Dept. of Consumer Affairs, Respiratory Care Practitioner, State of California. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment. Assembly and troubleshooting patient/machine equipment; drawing of blood; assessment (patient or examination); preventive maintenance; calibration of equipment. Works with other, contact with public, works alone and with others. Ability to perform algebraic calculations, ability to interpret data, critical thinking, ability to spell, read and comprehend, understand microprocessor equipment and departmental and hospital information system, and verbally communicate accurately and clearly. Able to lift up to 50lbs to the waist.
