Job Specialty: Nursing Education Position Type: Regular-F/T Shift Length: 8hr Hours: 8a - 5p Days: Monday - Friday Shift Type: Day Weekends: Monthly Job Description: Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers Ambulatory Care Administration has an immediate opening for a Nursing Education Program Coordinator who will take a leadership role in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education programs/projects for patients, personnel and community with an emphasis in Ambulatory Care.The Education Program Coordinator works on a peer level with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Service Line Managers. He/she is responsible for ensuring that staff maintain competency skills in areas of responsibility including knowledge of practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary for the position and consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. The Education Program Coordinator ensures the ability of personnel to effectively interact with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and identify the ability of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient to follow direction/instructions and give consent. He/she can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment; and provide appropriate assessment, intervention and evaluation to patients with consideration of development milestones in the adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The Education Coordinator is responsible for providing education and assuring staff competency in provision of age related patient care in Ambulatory Care, supports research and participate in strategic planning, both long and short term. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Requirements include BSN and Masters Degree, current California RN license and BLS, full command (verbal and written) of the English language and certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing or other relevant nursing certification approved by the Manager. If not currently certified, it must be obtained within 2 years of hire. Prior teaching experience and Ambulatory Care Nursing experience is preferred. The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions is a must!
