Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner at Children�s National Medical Center.

Acting under the collaborative supervision of a physician, you will be responsible for coordinating our Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program, including both inpatient and outpatient care, developing standards of patient care, enrolling patients in the CF registry, facilitating CFF research, and providing clinical education, leadership, and consultation within the specialty area. Working closely with the Pediatric CF Coordinator, you will assure smooth and timely transition of patients to the adult program.Ideally, you will have a Master´s of Science in Nursing, a minimum of 5 years nursing experience, and national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner. You also must be licensed to practice in an expanded nursing role and must be able to meet all credentialing requirements of the Children´s National Medical Center Medical Staff.

A member of the Operating Room team who functions in the scrub role and who monitors and maintains aseptic, technique, equipment, supplies and instruments. Responsible for receiving, washing, inspecting, preparing, sterilizing and storing instruments, trays, equipment and supplies according to policy and procedures. High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. CPR required and communication skills training (inclusive of written and verbal skills) 2 years experience as an Operating Room Tech; prefer graduate or OR training program; certification in AST preferable . Preferred 1 year experience in Sterile Processing.

Experienced Speech-Language Pathologist

Responsible for evaluating speech/language of children and providing remediation for children with communication disorders. Master´s degree in Speech-Language pathology 2 to 3 years of related experience. Must have licensure´s.

Minimum of 2-years experience required as a RN. Position requires a District of Columbia RN license.

Experienced Operations Manager Respiratory Care

Participates in planning, implementation, management and evaluation of service/department activities for Children´s National Medical Center in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies.Bachelor´s degree required; Licensed Respiratory Therapist in DC with 5 years of related and progressive experience; health care management experience preferred; minimum 1 year supervisory experience required.

Responsible for clinical and distributive activities in the assigned area of practice. Works closely with the medical staff, nursing staff and pharmacy staff to develop and maintain services that utilize the pharmacists´ drug knowledge vase to improve patient care, reduce cost, reduce medication errors, and improve efficiencies. Doctor of Pharmacy with ASHP accredited residency. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the District of Columbia is required.

The Edward J. Miller, Sr., Blood Donor Center, an independent collection facility at the hospital, was established in 1990 to support the growing need for blood and blood products at Children’s National Medical Center.

Responsible for managing the direction and supervision of the day-to-day operations of both the technical and administrative functions for the Blood Donor Center. Bachelors degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science, or Specialist in Blood Bank certification or RN. MS preferred. 5-7 years of related and progressive experience. One year supervisory experience required.

Responsible for coordinating the use of investigation drugs that are handled and dispensed from the pharmacy. Works in pharmacy operation for portion of time and has assigned office days to complete other tasks related to investigational drugs. Completion of five year pharmacy program in a accredited college of pharmacy. licensure or eligibility for licensure in the District of Columbia is required. One year of pharmacy experience in a pediatric, specialized or academic or clinical setting. Completion of a pharmacy residency program/advanced degree and/or significant work experience in a pharmacy.

Pediatric Otolaryngologist

PEDIATRIC OTOLARYNGOLOGIST: The Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Childrens National Medical Center, Washington, DC, seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in pediatric otolaryngology. Applicants must have completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology and must be board certified or eligible in Otolaryngology and have a strong interest in clinical care, research, and education. Childrens National Medical Center is a 283-bed, active and expanding childrens hospital with outpatient centers in Virginia and Maryland. Major success factors include a Childrens Research Institute and a Pediatric Otolaryngology Division with a long history of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Performs a variety of duties in the evaluation, treatment planning, and management of patients. This includes but is not limited to medical work-ups of inpatients and outpatients, assisting in surgical procedures, participating in provision post-operative care and follow-up, and performing other medical and surgical activities as requested for CNMC in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program NCCP Certification, Meets credential requirements of CNMC Staff, and meets credential requirement of Washington DC Department of Health and Licensure Provision.
