This is a staff Family Physician assigned to Naval Station Branch Clinic within the Directorate for Primary Care, Naval Medical Center San Diego. Civilian Physician Gastroenterology position immediately available at the Internal Medicine Department, Gastroenterology Division, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California. Performs general and specific duties below:Provides treatment within the personnel and equipment capabilities of the Medical Treatment Facility; Provides Inpatient and outpatient interventional and therapeutic Gastroenterology care and services; Performs mandated surveillance and preventive services; Performs quality and timely documentation of treatment records and reports. Performs a full range of Gastroenterology services, within the scope of clinical privileges. The workload occurs as a result of scheduled and unscheduled requirements for care. Provides comprehensive consultation, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatobiliary, and nutritional diseases. Civilian Physician Hematology/Oncology position is immediately available in Bethesda´s National Naval Medical Center. Become a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals assessing the effectiveness of patient treatment and programs. Performs duties as a medical practitioner and a consultant in Hematology/Oncology, with emphasis on problems of moderate complexity. Examines, diagnoses, treats and follows patients with medical problems of all complexities. Eligible Department of Defense patients arrive at the Hematology/Oncology Clinic referred by physicians from other military treatment facilities or clinics or self-referred on non-appointed (acute illness) basis. Provides clinical experience in the inpatient and outpatient management of patient. Provides initial and continuing follow-up treatment and care for chronic diseases and complications of all aspect of benign and malignant hematologic and oncologic disorders in the outpatient clinic. Examines and conducts thorough evaluation of patients using appropriate laboratory and clinical findings and specialty consultants/services. Plans for and organizes the administration of chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, cytokine therapy, and biologic response modifiers as indicated and counsels patients appropriately as to the potential side effects and toxicities of these agents. Provides inpatient staff attending duties/consultation responsibilities on the Hematology/Oncology service and the outpatient consult service. Formally and informally teaches and mentors the fellows, residents, interns, and medical students in training by providing didactic lectures and discussing patient cases at conferences. Provide clinical supervision of students, interns, and residents as they provide medical diagnosis and treatment to patients on the Hematology/Oncology Service. Works periodic early morning, evenings, and weekends during the course of routine Attending Staff physician duties. Attends all Hematology/Oncology Service conferences. Participates in Continuing Medical Education programs. Maintains Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and certification in Hematology/Oncology.
