Our 36 (private) bed unit specializes in cardiac care of patients with CHF, pre-post heart cath, medical/vascular and diabetes. Average length of stay on the unit is 3.9 days. Our unit opened December 2007 with state-of-the-art in technology. We have the Get Well Network in each patient room - an interactive patient care tool in which patients can learn about their condition, collaborate with their caregivers, secure helpful services, and enjoy entertainment resources all from their hospital bed via large flat screen TVs. We have an instant recognition program on our unit, which is when our Assistant Nurse Manager takes notice of an employee going above/beyond what is expected and that employee is given a gift card in recognition. Our unit has a long-standing nurse practice council, in which members of staff are empowered to look at clinical practices and implement changes along with a management team. We currently are at a 4-5 nurse/patient ratio and have support staff of PCT and Nurse Techs. We have a unit educator who ensures our staff maintains unit required CEUs and is also a great resource to our staff and management. We have daily Energizers which is a quick method of communication to staff of important system and campus specific news/updates.
