Cell Therapy Technologist Level I - Tampa, FL

This is primarily a technical position. The incumbent will be working in the area of the Cell Therapy Core Facility which will include blood and marrow stem cell processing, storage and evaluation, collection of peripheral blood stem cells, photopheresis and other tests of the immuno-hematopoietic system. Incumbent must be able to work independently and will be responsible for all facets of laboratory operation and adhere to the applicable regulations and standards (e.g. cGMP,c GTP, AABB, FACT). Incumbent will also be responsible for answering questions from patients, physicians and nursing staff. Due to patient contact excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: Baccalaureate in Medical Technology or related biomedical science with equivalent experience. Florida technologist licensure in Medical Technology required in the following two areas: hematology and immunohematology.

The Sterile Processing Technician II functions within sterile processing to process instruments, equipment and supplies for utilization in the operating room, in-house departments and clinics; this includes appropriate record keeping and distribution. Observes all rules and regulations governing processing standards of practice regarding all methods of sterilization and processing. Works independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve many issues at one time.Training/Experience: Qualifications: 1.) Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2.) License/Certification: CRCST or equivalent required. Completes annual education CEU hours to maintain CRSCT status. 3.) Training/Experience: a) CRCST with minimum of 2 (two) years Central Supply experience required; three years preferred. - OR - training and completion of a Surgical Technologist Program (CST) with one year operating room experience with CST certification required; two years experience preferred. b) experience with an automated inventory control system preferred c) familiarity with and knowledge of medical supplies is highly preferred d) experience with automated database for instrumentation preferred e) familiarity with O.R. routines, infection control principles and regulatory practices. 4) Competencies: a) ability to communicate well with others and follow written and verbal instructions b) function with routine interruptions c) ability to interact with other employees and team members d) demonstrated problem solving skills e) knowledge of sterilization parameters (decontamination, instrument preparation, sterilization) and universal precautions 5) Other: a) Physical and emotional stamina appropriate to job function. b) Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. c) Call Requirements: rotates call as scheduled to meet the needs of the department.

Abstractor - Tampa, FL

Responsible for the accessioning and abstracting activities of the Cancer Registry in compliance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS/CoC), the Florida Cancer Data System (FCDS), and department goals. Responsible for abstracting demographic, cancer management and survival information from patients medical records and other sources accurately into the Cancer Registry database.Education: High school diploma required; course work in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology or equivalent experience in allied health field required. Degree in allied health field preferred. Training/Experience: Must be a certified cancer registrar (CTR); minimum three (3) years cancer registry abstracting experience in a CoC approved program; or a minimum of one (1) year cancer registry abstracting experience as a CTR in Moffitt Cancer Center cancer registry; experience working with a computerized cancer registry database required; experience in a research facility preferred. Additional Information: Thorough knowledge of ACoS/CoC and state registry data collection requirements; able to accurately interpret components of medical record including operative, pathology, radiology, lab and autopsy reports; must be familiar with abstracting processes, principles and data standards; must be familiar with characteristics of different types of cancers, including typical disease progression, relative prognoses and standards of care; must be knowledgeable in medical oncology terminology; needs proficiency with computerized cancer registry databases, word processing software, and windows-based operating system; shows good judgment in prioritizing work to meet department goals, standards and deadlines.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cancer Centers Physician Billing Compliance Program. This position provides guidance to the Director of Corporate Compliance on compliance issues related to policy, risk identification and regulations governing the Cancer Centers physician billing activities. This position will also support the Director of Corporate Compliance in developing and implementing a compliance program that will ensure that necessary compliance related policies and procedures are established, implemented and updated in a manner that adequately measures and reports regulatory compliance in physician billing activities of the Cancer Center. The position will also act as support staff to the Corporate Compliance Steering Committee and under guidance from the Corporate Compliance Steering Committee, support appropriate reporting of physician billing compliance issues to the Joint Corporate Compliance Committee of the Board.

Responsible for abstracting demographic, cancer management and survival information from patient�s medical records and other sources accurately into the M2Gen database. Performs extensive medical record reviews and concurrent chart data abstraction on all regulatory required clinical indicators for assigned patient group, in addition to selecting and collecting appropriate data from patient charts relevant to the Core Measures Set. Oversees and evaluates performance of the Core Measure Data Abstractors.

The Data Warehouse Architect designs, develops, and supports data warehouses and associated infrastructure to solve bio-informatics, business, scientific or engineering problems in the support of research and development at Moffitt Cancer Center. The Data Warehouse Architect utilizes industry best practices to deliver data that meet business and technical requirements. The Data Warehouse Architect gathers requirements by analyzing existing operational systems and uses them to design data pathways to build data warehouses. The Data Warehouse Architect will take the initiative in defining data warehouse architecture standards, best-practices and design methodology. Review current architecture and make recommendations specific to ETL, database, data delivery. Provide extensive data warehouse subject-matter expertise and consultancy to the team in areas of data warehouse design, dimensional model design and optimization. The individual will perform analysis, design, code, tests, and debugging of the programs created. The Data Warehouse Architect is expected to be the technical lead for most of the projects they are involved in and will be required to establish project goals, objectives, budget, and resources with little or no supervision. In this capacity the individual will be expected to take complete responsibility for proactively driving the projects they own through the SDLC. They will be expected to communicate with peers, management, and executives using appropriate content and tools. The individual will be expected to exercise excellent judgment within loosely defined parameters in order to accomplish these goals. This position involves working on projects ranging from design of data warehouses to development of data marts, ETL programs & data delivery via reports/queries. While working on larger enterprise deployment they will be required to provide information to project management including: feature lists, defined tasks, resource estimates and status reports.
