The Data Warehouse Architect designs, develops, and supports data warehouses and associated infrastructure to solve bio-informatics, business, scientific or engineering problems in the support of research and development at Moffitt Cancer Center. The Data Warehouse Architect utilizes industry best practices to deliver data that meet business and technical requirements. The Data Warehouse Architect gathers requirements by analyzing existing operational systems and uses them to design data pathways to build data warehouses. The Data Warehouse Architect will take the initiative in defining data warehouse architecture standards, best-practices and design methodology. Review current architecture and make recommendations specific to ETL, database, data delivery. Provide extensive data warehouse subject-matter expertise and consultancy to the team in areas of data warehouse design, dimensional model design and optimization. The individual will perform analysis, design, code, tests, and debugging of the programs created. The Data Warehouse Architect is expected to be the technical lead for most of the projects they are involved in and will be required to establish project goals, objectives, budget, and resources with little or no supervision. In this capacity the individual will be expected to take complete responsibility for proactively driving the projects they own through the SDLC. They will be expected to communicate with peers, management, and executives using appropriate content and tools. The individual will be expected to exercise excellent judgment within loosely defined parameters in order to accomplish these goals. This position involves working on projects ranging from design of data warehouses to development of data marts, ETL programs & data delivery via reports/queries. While working on larger enterprise deployment they will be required to provide information to project management including: feature lists, defined tasks, resource estimates and status reports. The Data Warehouse Architect will be technically responsible for multiple concurrent projects where they will be expected to provide team members, clients, and consultants with the technical details of the project. The Data Warehouse Architect is expected to exhibit exemplary technical capabilities setting an example for less experienced individuals. The individual is responsible for continually enhancing their skills, knowledge and abilities. A Data Warehouse Architect contributes to decisions on policies, procedures, expansion strategies, and product evaluations. Other duties as assigned.See Job Description
