The Fort Hood Military Reservation
is located in central Texas,
and has a population of 33,711. The
fort is adjacent to the city of Killeen,
and is 70 miles (113 kilometers) north
of Austin.
The entire installation covers an area
of 340 square miles (881 square kilometers),
and straddles the border between Coryell
County and Bell
County.
