metropolitan area, approximately 23
miles (37 kilometers) north of Denver.
Lafayette is named after Lafayette
Miller, a settler whose wife purchased
lands in 1888, which then became the
basis for the city. The community offers
residents a hometown feel, and panoramic
views of the nearby Rocky Mountains.
