The Bronx VA Medical Center has immediate opportunities for Registered Nurses for its Adult combined twenty (20) bed Intensive Care unit. BSN and MSN preferred with at least 2 years of medical/surgical experience. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with others, good assessment,observation and documentation skills. Current Basic Life Support/Advanced Life Support preferred. All candidates must be citizens of the United States, graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the approriate State accrediting agency, have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a state, territory, or commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia and proficient in spoken and written English.

Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to healthcare team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Furthers professional growth by engaging in 6- 10 hours of learning activities annually. Minimum Requirements: This RN position requires graduation from an approved program of professional nursing (RN) and 12 months of RN experience. One year of critical care/step-down nursing experience is strongly preferred with monitoring experience a plus. BLS, ACLS and current Tennessee RN license are required. Additional Information: This is a full-time position in the OBSERVATION UNIT; 36 hours per week. Shift: 7p-7a with every other weekend requirement.
