The OB/GYN Department of a leading hospital in Brooklyn seeks an enthusiastic Certified Nurse-Midwife to add to their busy, innovative full scope (antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well-woman GYN, and family planning) Midwifery practice. Fulltime position.A minimum of one years experience in clinical (antepartum and delivery skills) required. Work week consists of days and nights as needed, with alternate weekends. We are currently recruiting for a Practice Administrator for our OB/GYN practice located in Baltimore City. This position will report to the Regional Operations Director. RN II is a registered nurse in the PACE (Professional Advancement/Clinical Excellence) Program, with at least one-year current experience in an acute-care setting at time of hire, or who has advanced to an RNII from an RN I level. Leads a team of multi-skilled patient care providers in the delivery of preferred outcome oriented, safe, therapeutic and cost effective care. Identifies patient needs based on professional knowledge and medical plan of care. Establishes individualized outcome measures for each patients care. Delegates interventions based on critical thinking skills and a knowledge of the competencies of each team member. Coordinates care to maximize desirable outcomes, patient satisfaction, and cost effective utilization of available personnel and resources. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nurses. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia. Minimum of one-year current experience in an acute care setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and teaching skills required. Sound conflict management skills and the ability to be fair, unbiased and even-tempered. Ability to function as a role model in a professional leadership position and to maintain a minimum of 12 contact (Continuing Education Units) hours per year through an accredited provider.

This position requires a registered nurse with training as a childbirth educator to provide for the education of families as they prepare for birth and family life. This includes an ability to prepare and implement content, instruction, materials, and evaluate teaching and learning strategies in relation to the labor process. Knowledge and experience in utilizing equipment and teaching tools and methodologies related to childbearing, breastfeeding, and normal newborn care is also required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia. Minimum of three years experience in maternity nursing and/or childbirth education, required. Attendance at a Childbirth Education training seminar of at least 18 hours duration, required. Knowledge and skills in applying the principles of adult education is preferred.
