Exciting Clinical Practice Educator opportunity!
The educator in coordination with nursing leadership assesses, plans, implements and evaluates formal and informal education and clinical practice activities related to orientation, training, continuing education and competency assessment of our maternal child departments. The educator actively participates in facilitating the change process in the areas of responsibility. Responsibilities require initiative, creativity and independence in designing and implementing courses, program and projects that meet the learning needs of patient care givers. The educator also collaborates with physicians and physician extenders in meeting these needs as it relates to clinical practice. The instructor demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned clinical areas and must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. The associate serves as a resource to all areas of Saint Agnes Hospital.Required Education: BSN, Masters degree in nursing or education preferred.Required Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland and C.P.R. required, A.C.L.S., P.A.L.S. and N.R.P. certification if applicable to the assigned area(s). Professional specialty certification preferred.Required Experience: Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in acute care or school of nursing. Proven clinical skills in area of nursing practice. One (1) year of experience teaching in a hospital or school of nursing preferred.
