Preferred Skills: Endoscopy experience strongly preferred.Purpose of Job Assists gastroenterologists and providers to conduct invasive diagnostic procedures. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.Duties and Responsibilities:1. Assists gastroenterologist and providers to perform diagnostic and minor medical procedures.2. Washes, inspects, decontaminates and maintains equipment following established infection control procedures.3. Prepares equipment and supplies needed for scheduled procedures.4. Assist in patient flow; providing support as necessary.5. Maintain general stock levels within the department.6. Performs other related duties as directed.Minimum Qualifications Experience- Two years experience as a GI Technician or Clinical Assistant required.Education and Training- High school diploma or equivalent.License, Certifications, Other Credentials- GI certification preferred.- Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant (Maryland)- CPR certification required.Other Qualifications- Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.- In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
