Summary of Essential Job Duties:Responsible for admissions and coordination of prospective payment systems for inpatient rehabilitation. Responsible for assessments and processing of potential candidates to the unit, including verification of benefits and/or admissions authorization. Provides oversight for all systems and records inherent to the admissions process. Oversees/completes and assures the accuracy and the completion of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) prior to electronic transmission. Ensures that the clinical, financial, and medical record coding are in compliance prior to electronic transmission. Assists with concurrent monitoring of financial information in relation to the CMGs. Understands the Case Mix Groups Classification systems. Provides assessment consistent with the Plan for Provision of Patient Care, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, and Professional Organizational Standards. Maintains competency skills, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues, and physical abilities. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Educational Requirements:-Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or accredited allied health school (PT, OT, SLP).-Possession of a valid California RN license, PT or OT or SLP license.-Certification of Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred.-Minimum of 2-3 years experience in professional field.-Demonstrates high level of verbal and written communication skills.-Demonstrates knowledge and responsibility in IRF-PAI, CMG classification and PPS.-Requires basic computer competency comprised of working knowledge of Windows or comparable system, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation development, e-mail, browser, and online reporting.License/Certification/Registration Requirements:Possession of a valid California license for RN, PT, OT, or SLP.Experience:Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in professional field.Physical Demands:Prolonged standing, lifting, bending, and reaching to shelve books, files, and charts. Ability to stoop, squat, lift, carry, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs are required. Able to work in a fast paced high volume environment with frequent interruptions.
