This diverse community is the heart of Southwestern Ontario and is sure to offer something to everyone.Qualifications:- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario- BScN or currently enrolled in a BScN program preferred- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification- Minimum two years of recent, related experience in an acute care Paediatric setting- Recent, related experience with Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Infectious Diseases, Respirology, Orthopaedics, and Acquired Brain Injuries- Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft products (ie: Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Groupwise- Well-developed patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skills- Demonstrated warmth, interest and empathy in interactions with patients and families- Recognition, understanding and demonstrated Emotional Intelligence (EI), particularly emotional self awareness, assertiveness, optimism, stress tolerance and empathy, in a variety of situations- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication (both written and oral) skills and high levels of initiative- Ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team- Demonstrated ability to prioritize fluctuating workload demands- Ability to practice in a self-directed manner- Thorough understanding of Family-Centered Care Principles and ability to use in practice- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis We foster a culture of patient and staff safety whereby all employees are guided by LHSCs Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.As part of the assessment process applicants may be required to complete a written examination or test.
