The University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) for this family planning and gynecology procedure center.

The NP should be motivated to work with a high-risk, diverse population of reproductive-aged women seeking care for therapeutic and elective abortion, management of miscarriage, contraception, sterilization, and other outpatient gynecological procedures.In close collaboration with the attending physicians, the NPs primary responsibilities will consist of preoperative assessment and counseling; post-operative evaluation; tracking of laboratory, pathology and procedure outcomes data; and supervision of resident physicians for the above activities. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: completion of history and physical examinations, assessment of gestational age by sonography, cervical dilator insertion, contraceptive counseling and provision, perioperative assessment, monitoring of conscious sedation, and post-operative follow-up.
