Johnson General HospitalA registered nurse who provides patient care and education for patients in the hospital intensive/critical care units, labor and delivery, operating room or emergency center setting. Uses the nursing process to ensure physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs are met. Responsible for assessing patient needs, providing education and coordinating care between members of the healthcare team to optimize the patient/clients understanding of their condition and care requirements. Responsible for providing care to patients with critical or life-threatening conditions requiring intensive nursing supervision and technological support. Duties performed: 1. Promotes a customer-friendly environment for both internal and external clients 2. Adapts work methods to specifically accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age specific and other developmental needs of each patient served. 3. Performs physical and psychosocial assessment as indicated by standards and unit guidelines. Communicates findings to appropriate healthcare team members. 4. Develops and utilizes a specific plan of care and modifies it to meet individual patient needs using evidence-based practices. Monitors and documents progression of treatment and teaching goals. 5. Anticipates discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow. 6. Demonstrates proper utilization and maintenance of equipment/supplies. 7. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in administering medications. 8. Practices safety measures and adheres to Infection Control Standards. 9. Maintains professional behavior and completes all required education/ credentialing requirements. 10. Demonstrates leadership skills. Requires TX RN license, graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (BSN preferred), three years clinical experience and conscious sedation credentialing. ICU experience preferred, but not required. Schedule/Shift: Monday - Friday with some after hours on call time.
