The Clinical Nurse IV assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care.Expert professional practitioner; assumes responsibility & accountability for expert application of the nursing process and delivery of patient care. Directs and supervises the clinical performance of others, acts as a resource. Demonstrates motivation and creativity. Performs clinical, as well as supervisory functions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Requirements include valid California Registered Nurse License, BSN, BCLS, ACLS and at least 5 years or more acute RN experience to include at least 3years ICU specialty experience.

As a core member of the care delivery team, the Clinical Nurse practices as a primary and/or associate nurse and collaborates with the team to facilitate the coordination of patient care at the unit level. Through utilization of the nursing process, the clinical nurse diagnoses and treats patient and family responses to actual or potential health problems. The Clinical Nurse is accountable to the patient, family, peers, and clinical manager. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut; minimum of 1 year current acute care RN experience required, ICU experience preferred. Clinical Nurse is the basic level for new graduates and all registered nurses who do not choose to participate in the Recognition and Clinical Advancement Program (RCAP).

Associate Degree or Diploma required. Minimum 2 years experience in ICU or CVICU nursing. Satisfactorily completes BKAT testing upon hire.
