We are located in Beverly Hills close to the heart of Los Angeles.Esophageal ProgramSummary of Essential Job Duties:Responsible for the planning an coordination of all aspects of the work up and care for the Thoracic & Esophageal/Foregut Surgery patients throughout the continuum of services from initial referral to follow-up care. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Thoracic & Esophageal/Foregut Surgery Program is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative and acute care through discharge in addition to outpatient patient management. The NP provides guidance, direction, and assistance to the health care team in maintaining optimum quality of nursing care of Thoracic & Esophageal/Foregut Surgery patients, regardless of geographic location. Develops, implements and evaluates educational programs/projects for patients, personnel and the community. Collects/documents data to meet clinical, financial and regulatory requirements. Participates in the development of guidelines, protocols, pathways and other performance improvement activities. Participates in research activities. Serves as a patient advocate throughout the care process. Represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Master of Nursing Degree required. Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License. Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered. Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current NP Furnishing License/DEA license or eligibility. Experience:Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and healthcare colleagues.Minimum of 2 (two) years acute hospital experience.Physical Demands:Perceptive acuity and physical ability to perform all direct and indirect patient care functions including walking, sitting, standing, bending and light lifting required.
