The Department of Psychiatry at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is accepting applications for a full time Advanced Practice Nurse. This position will provide individual psychiatric assessments of psychosocial and psychiatric disorders and provide treatments for inpatient and outpatient oncology patients and their families while receiving treatment/care. This position works collaboratively with the Psychiatry faculty, clinical providers, and an interdisciplinary team to provide medication management and/or treatments such as counseling and psychotherapy, behavioral techniques and other interventions in individual, group, and marital and family psychotherapy settings. Finally, this position may provide education to the patients and his/her family as well as participate in formal and internal instruction of nursing and medical students, trainees, fellows, professional nurses or other health professionals. APN applicants should have a Masters degree in Nursing, authorization from the State of Texas Board of Nurses to function as an APN, and at least 2 years experience in clinical nursing.
