WGU is seeking a visionary, innovative leader to direct the National Prelicensure Nursing program of Western Governors University. The Director will be responsible for assisting with new state approvals as the program grows to provide the prelicensure program nationwide. The incumbent will lead daily operations and implementation of the curriculum and clinical activities in all states including clinical labs, clinical nursing education and the online, competency-based curriculum. Other responsibilities include: maintenance of state and national accreditation through state Directors of nursing and operations staff; collaboration with clinical partners and other program stakeholders including nursing program council and university leadership to further the development and success of the pre-licensure program; process and program improvement including leadership for curriculum enhancement; ongoing analysis and advancement of systems to enhance student success and student outcomes. This position reports to the Director of the MAP RN Project and is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Qualifications:* Doctoral degree in nursing or a doctorate with a Masters degree in nursing, with a minimum of five years experiences in leadership positions with increasing responsibility and success. * Prior experience teaching and directing prelicensure nursing programs, preferably nontraditional models. * Study in Curriculum, Instruction, Instructional Leadership or Instructional Design. * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. * Excellent project management and organizational skills. * Online experience is a plus. *Experience working with virtual teams. Direct experience in use of academic technology and assessment strategies. * Time management skills, works well both individually and as a member of a team. Ability to use analytic tools to evaluate academic data. * Ability to manage and develop highly skilled professional staff, to work effectively with multiple departments and standards. * Must be adaptable and flexible, attention to detail, dependable, shows initiative, organized and knows how to plan, creative and able to put content into engaging activities. * Must be able to prioritize and problem solve. * Experience with competency-based education is preferred is a plus * Demonstrated innovation skills with a history of implementing new programs using new evidence in educational research * Knowledge of recent advances in simulation and experience with supporting the integration of simulation into curricula * Demonstrated success with student outcomes, NCLEX pass rates, student retention and student satisfaction * Demonstrated success with nursing accreditation processes specifically CCNE * Demonstrated expertise as a change agent with a history of designing, leading and implementing changes in educational or healthcare environments. * Technologically proficient with e-mail, web browsers and web based learning tools (including web meetings), spreadsheets, word processing & presentation software, and a working knowledge of databases and data management needs and technologies. This position also requires up to 30% travel.
