Nurse Midwife-Full Time Responsible for functioning independently to provide safe, effective, reproductive health care to healthy women; provide family-centered care to healthy mothers and newborns; and perform emergency procedures in the absence of a physician. MSN Degree. NYS Nursing license. Current NYS certification to practice Nurse Midwifery. BLS & NALS. Seeking a Midwife committed to the midwifery model of care. We are a practice that values education, empowerment, low intervention, and labor support. We serve a wide spectrum of consumers ranging from a low-income, multicultural, inner city, population in our clinic setting, to an upper- middle class, educated and professional population in our private practice. A priority of our practice is the involvement of each woman and family in responsible and informed participation in their GYN, Ante-partum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Our four collaborating physicians are supportive and respectful of the work we do, as is the staff at the midsize hospital where we attend births. Call is 1:4. The practice is centered in Albany, the Capital city of NY, which offers a full range of lifestyle choices from rural to metropolitan within a 30-minute radius.
