Join us at Catholic Medical Center, a medically advanced hospital about an hour from Boston. As a new addition to The Moms Place our acclaimed, family-focused childbirth center the Special Care Nursery creates a Level IIB setting that is warm, homelike and inviting. Assists in the care of patients and performs surgical scrub role for Cesarean Sections as needed. Work under the direction of an RN to perform selected nursing care activities and services. Monitors and maintains equipment and supplies. Essential Functions: Operating Room Technician Function and Role: *Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures with knowledge of surgical preference.*Sets up sterile table with instruments, sutures, blades, electrosurgical equipment, suction, prosthesis and solutions as needed for vaginal or Cesarean Section delivery.*Counts sponges, needles, and instruments with RN prior to procedure, during, and before incision is closed. *Prepares sterile dressings. *Maintains aseptic and sterile techniques throughout procedure. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.*Assists members of team with terminal cleanup of room in readiness for next patient. *Properly cares for and handles specimens. Nursing Assistant Function and Role:*Assists adult patients with daily living activities. *Assists with neonatal bathing, diapering and circumcision dressing changes. *Performs activities to maintain the patients environment in a comfortable, orderly and safe condition.*Assists with transport, admission and discharge of patients. *Takes baby photographs.*Respond to call lights.*Support food and nutrition services with patient requests. *Distribute meals and nourishments to patients. *Performs all care tasks according to policies and procedures. *Reports all observations, symptoms, deviations from norm, and changes in patients condition to primary nurse or charge nurse. *Assist with bottle feeding as directed by RN. High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an approved nursing assistant program. Must complete specialized training for perinatal surgical scrub role within six months of hire. Experience: Previous direct patient care or related experience preferred. Licensure/ Certificate: Current registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of New Hampshire.
