Dynamic multicultural community health center looking for an experienced CNM to join our team. Births are at tertiary care medical center.
Primary Purpose: Provide independent management of the care of women and newborns during the ante partum, intra-partum and postpartum periods, as well as in the areas of well-woman gynecology, primary care and family planning. Essential Duties:-Practice and provide care within the guidelines of the Midwifery practice and other written policies and standing orders of KPHC-Provide for comprehensive care with the ability to consult and/or refer to other health care providers/services/agencies as necessary-Order and interpret laboratory tests-Provide health education/consultation to clients, other professionals, and the community as appropriate-Collaborate in planning and participate in teaching clients, families, paraprofessionals, midwifery students, medical students, nursing students and other health care professionals-Provide/promote informed consent and knowledgeable participation of clients in their care and in preventive care-Participate in health center and professional quality assurance plans/activities-Attend all staff and professional meetings as required-Participate in continuing education programs and current CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation certification-Assist in evaluating and revising the Guidelines for Midwifery Practice and other practice policies and procedures-Share office/on-call schedule and other responsibilities of the midwifery practice-May be required to provide outpatient care at a site other than KPHC main clinic per contracts or arrangements with outside agencies-Participate in periodic provider meetings, support staff evaluation, case conferences, hospital committees and other activities as required-Communicate problems, concerns and suggestions to the Medical Director and to other women’s health team providers verbally and in writing where appropriate-Maintain current licensure (CNM) in the State of Hawaii, and certification by the ACNMOther Duties:Perform other related duties as assigned, i.e., participation in data collection and analysis of the population cared for, for the purposes of data reporting and internal quality reviews.
