Abbott is creating a Specialty Pharmacy Model within its Pharmaceutical Products Group. This team will champion new ´high touch´ patient care programs to improve patient support services and overall compliance and persistency.

Today, 72,000 Abbott employees are doing work that matters.PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:This position has two major functions:- Provide specific clinical expertise & supervision to the Intake Nurses, Patient Care Coordinators, SPOCs, & other pharmacy employees as designated.- Act as a liaison between the pharmacy & nursing departments within Pharmacy Solutions, as well as between Pharmacy Solutions & other functional areas of Abbott laboratories, i.e. Pharmacovigilence, Medical Information, Product Management, etc.- Supervise the operations & productivity of clinical & technical staff responsible for direct patient communication, interaction, & care within Pharmacy Solutions. - Ensure departmental training & compliance with established regulations, guidelines, & SOPs related to the pharmacy care process and telephonic nursing support. Information provided is in compliance with pharmacy, regulatory, & HIPAA requirements.- Solid understanding of regulations, current FDA opinion &guidance, political & legal climate, & industry practices related to the dissemination and/or promotion of medical & drug information. - Liaison with other divisions to assure the appropriate & efficient provision of information within established guidelines.- Assist Marketing, Clinical, Product Information & Pharmacovigilance. - Mentor & train staff, establish clinical protocols/surveys/assessments & associated training programs including management staff.- Budgeting & strategic planningQUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of applicable regulations & standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products (e.g. CFR 210/211, cGMP) specifically,- Minimum 3 years managerial exp. at a supervisory level & at least 5 years overall professional practice experience- Exp. in the mgt. of a healthcare or nursing call center or clinical service model- Exp. in the development , design & implementation of clinical assessments/programs for the assessment and counseling of patients- Understanding of federal, state, local, & industry standards & their impact on the business unit &nursing functional area in particular.Through numerous local, national and international accolades, Abbott is regarded as an employer of choice for our commitment to workplace excellence.
