Maine: Women´s Health Associates
Women´s Health Associates is a community Obstetrical, Gynecological, and Midwifery practice affiliated with St. Marys Regional Medical Center and St. Marys Health System in Lewiston, Maine. Women´s Health Associates is seeking a CNM to join three other experienced midwives in a thriving midwifery service which works collaboratively with six OB/GYN physicians at the practice. Our midwives provide full-scope midwifery care to a diverse clientele of women from both city and rural areas, including a large number of African immigrant families who have settled in the Lewiston area. Our midwives and an OB/GYN physician also offer primary care services to women. Any interested candidate should feel confident in their primary care skills and enjoy the opportunity of providing a full range of care. Births are attended at St. Marys Regional Medical Center, conveniently located one floor above the busy practice. St. Marys is a community hospital with a customer-friendly nursing staff. Water-birth is available to women who desire and meet the criteria for this birthing option. This service is provided by the midwives only. Nestled along the banks of the Androgscoggin River, Lewiston is a diverse community with rich Irish and French Canadian roots (French is still spoken here!) mixed with our more recent immigrants from Somalia, Ethiopia, and Sudan. Lewiston is located 45 minutes north of Portland, Maine and two hours north of Boston Massachusetts. Both the mountains and the sea are a short car trip away!
