The Assistant Manager also directs patient care and patient education as needed to assist the clinical staff. Provide support for the Manager through a team approach. Other duties include: scheduling, orientation, training and continued competencies for the clinical staff consisting of 22 nurses. Requirements: This position requires a Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) and 2 years of related experience. Clinical supervision is strongly preferred. Current Tennessee RN license required. Additional Information: Shift: 40 hours per week; 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m.; Monday through Friday. Shift hours may vary depending upon department need. The Medical Specialties Clinic cares for more than 21,000 patients per year and practices in the following specialties: Clinical Pharmacology, Hypertension, Nephrology, Toxicology, Renal Transplant, Rheumatology and the International Travel Clinic. All patients seen are adults with the exception of the Travel Clinic, which sees both adults and children. The physical clinical areas include twenty-seven exam rooms, one lab, one procedure room for an Anemia Clinic, seven nurse intake areas, a consult room and a procedure room for the Travel Clinic. Patients seen in the Clinic (with the exception of those from the Travel Clinic) are referred by a PCP or other specialists for diagnosis/management of underlying diseases. Travel Clinic patients are seen for information dissemination and immunizations for traveling abroad. The levels of care for each specialty are as follows:-Hypertension/Clinical Pharmacology provides successful management of hypertension and diagnosis of underlying causes.-Toxicology provides intervention by means of preventive diagnosis and therapeutic focus concerning environmental, pharmacological and other types of exposure.-Nephrology/Renal Transplant provides diagnostic services and therapeutic intervention with long-term management of patients with impaired renal function or renal transplant.-Rheumatology provides successful management of the physical, emotional, psychosocial and educational needs for patients with musculoskeletal impairment and/or autoimmune diseases.-Travel Clinic provides pre-travel recommendations, prophylaxis for malaria and vaccinations for patients traveling abroad.Our Support Services include: Clinical Laboratory, Radiology, Home Health, Cardiology, Physical Therapy, Social Work, Rehab, and Nutrition and Infusion. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. The staff includes twelve Registered Nurses, one Physicians Assistant, one Nurse Practitioner, nine Licensed Practical Nurses, two Medical Assistants, four Patient Service Representatives, nine Administrative Assistants and the Clinic Manager. A Registered Dietitian, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and three Lab Liaison Technicians also work onsite. Staffing for the clinics is predicated on patient volume, types of diagnostic tests performed and the number of physicians as well as supervision required. The Nurse Registry, temporary staffing services and clinical staff from other areas of the Medicine Patient Care Center are used to provide coverage when regular staff is on extended leave or additional staff is required.Background screens will be performed and education will be verified prior to employment.
