CVPH seeks an RN to be Dir of Inf Prevention & Control
The Director of Infection Prevention & Control is administratively responsible for the coordination and management of the organization-wide infection prevention and control program, infection control surveillance, education, monitoring trends that have been identified through surveillance, and maintaining all regulatory functions in conjunction with the hospital epidemiologist and Infection Control Committee. The Director will have current information on Joint Commission standards, federal, state, and county requirements pertaining to infection control and will function as a consultant to all hospital staff on all aspects of infection control and prevention. The position will work collaboratively with all departments to ensure infection prevention activities and standards are met.Education/Skills Required:1. Bachelor´s Degree in nursing required, Masters in relevant field preferred.2. New York State RN License required3. Infection Control Certification required4. Three years of Infection Control experience required in acute-care hospital setting.5. Two years management experience required6. Experience with JCAHO, DOH, federal and state infection control regulations required.7. Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.8. Knowledge and experience in utilizilng statistical tools for measurement required.9. Experience with National Patient Safety Goals and IHI initiatives related to infection prevention and control.As applicable, the individual has training / competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
