Maternal Child Health Educator specializing in NICU and Pediatrics
The Maternal Child Health Educator will report to and collaborate with the Supervisor of Staff Development while working closely with the Nurse Managers of Pediatrics and NICU. Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, providing and evaluating continuing education programs for Peds and NICU. Assist with developing departmental education policies/procedures and reviews annually. Keep current with Peds and NICU nursing trends, practices and educational techniques through independent reading of journal articles and books and attendance at pertinent programs and seminars. Update programs in accordance with JCAHO and NYS recommendations as necessary. Maintain certification as NRP and PALS instructor/trainer.Current NYS RN license, BS degree, MS/MSN preferred, minimum of 3 yrs acquired clinical knowledge and related skills.
