Masters degree preferred. Five years acute care recent nursing experience in OR/PACU required. CNOR certification preferred. Educator assesses the educational needs of the staff and then designs and implements educational programs and develops the necessary methodologies to implement the standards of care. Establishes competency with the planning, implementation, evaluation and redesign of orientation programs, educational offerings and staff competencies. Must possess experience in program creation and coordination, and the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively when teaching and consulting in collaboration with program participants and management staff. Analytical skills necessary for project management, appropriate teaching materials based upon evaluation of training and educational needs, and the ability to assess program participants progress towards appropriate outcomes are also required.
