Experienced critical care nurses needed of our ICU unit.

The Medical Surgical Nurse utilizes the nursing process along with specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills in the care of pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics based upon the principles of the biological, physical and social sciences to: a)Facilitate the patient´s achievement of optimum health status. b)Provide leadership and coordination to the health care team to facilitate the patient´s achievement of optimum health status. c)Maintain the standards of professional nursing practice. Interacts with all levels of MVH staff, physicians, patient´s families, and external contracts in a dynamic environment. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status. Requirements: Current Arizona RN license. Must possess the ability to delegate tasks to team members and oversee their performance. Must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the job description. Must be proficient in PC usage. Including complex technical invasive and non-invasive patient monitoring equipment specific to clinical area.

RN II is a registered nurse in the PACE (Professional Advancement/Clinical Excellence) Program, with at least one-year current experience in an acute-care setting at time of hire, or who has advanced to an RNII from an RN I level. Leads a team of multi-skilled patient care providers in the delivery of preferred outcome oriented, safe, therapeutic and cost effective care. Identifies patient needs based on professional knowledge and medical plan of care. Establishes individualized outcome measures for each patients care. Delegates interventions based on critical thinking skills and a knowledge of the competencies of each team member. Coordinates care to maximize desirable outcomes, patient satisfaction, and cost effective utilization of available personnel and resources. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nurses. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia. Minimum of one-year current experience in an acute care setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and teaching skills required. Sound conflict management skills and the ability to be fair, unbiased and even-tempered. Ability to function as a role model in a professional leadership position and to maintain a minimum of 12 contact (Continuing Education Units) hours per year through an accredited provider.

One Winter, Summer, and ´other´ Holiday are required. Schedules need to be submitted for the pay period one pay period in advance.Must have access to and bi-weekly use of email.  All department communication and schedule submissions are done via Outlook email.
