Registered Nurse - Nurse Care Manager - Intermountain Medical Center - PRN - Salt Lake City, UT

Intermountain is recognized as a leading healthcare system and a model for what is right in American medicine.The Registered Nurse in the Care Management role is involved in a collaborative process which assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates options and services to meet an individual´s health needs through communication and available resources to promote cost effective outcomes.-Must have current Utah RN licensure or be license eligible.-Must have CPR certification.-Bachelor´s Degree required BSN preferred.-Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience with knowledge of managed care and utilization management to include InterQual admissions criteria.-Knowledge of discharge planning processes and community resources.-Excellent oral and written communication skills.-Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, critical analysis skills, ability to plan and organize workload-Must be assertive and flexible.-This position is full-time and will provide coverage for the Urban Central Region (i.e. Alta View, TOSH, Intermountain Medical Center and LDS Hospitals).

The PCU/Telemetry RN provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Position renders individualized, age specific and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. Acts as a supervisor by assessing, planning, delegating and utilizing independent judgment in directing other healthcare employees for the provision of patient care. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals. Participates in hourly rounding. Observes safety guidelines and safe work practices. May at times be asked to be in charge for a shift(s). MINIMUM EDUCATION: Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing schoolPREFERRED EDUCATION: BSN PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of acute care experience. Certification in specialty area of practicepreferred.REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona. CPR. ACLS.SPECIAL SKILLS: Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills.
