Interventional Radiology Nurse PractitionerScott & White is currently looking for an Interventional Radiology Nurse Practitioner. An IR NP is responsible for many aspects of an IR departments success, performing diverse tasks such as doing an H & P, removing a port-a-cath and inserting PICC lines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our seven Interventional Radiologists. Other team members include an experienced NP, a Nurse Clinician and a scheduler. The job combines the roles of Educator (we have several research projects) and proceduralist. This position also entails community education, training the public on vascular disease and familiarizing them with what Interventional Radiology can do for them by introducing them to procedures like Vertebroplasty, Radiofrequency Ablation, Cryoablation, Aneurism coiling and regular angioplasty. Candidates should have 5+ years experience in caring for acute care or critical care patients with GI, cardiac and/or diabetes. Transplant patient experience is a plus. Our Abdominal Transplant Program is one of the busiest programs of its kind in the region offering deceased donor transplants as well as living donor options including ABO incompatible and cross match positive transplants utilizing desensitization protocols to maximize transplant opportunities.The Inpatient Nurse Practitioner will be part of a three-person NP team located on our dedicated Transplant Unit and will be integral to optimizing outcomes and maximizing patient satisfaction.
