RN for Cath Lab needed with Cath Lab or critical care experience

Works with Director of Diagnostic Imaging, Radiology Technologist, Cardiovascular Technician, Physicians and other personnel to provide diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Special Procedures and Cardiac Cath Lab and other areas within Diagnostic Imaging as needed. Requirments: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed to practice as an RN in Arizona. Two years recent clinical RN experience in the clinical speciality, preferred. The Nurses will coordinate total nursing care for acutely ill patients, admitted primarily for cardiac evaluation and treatment, respiratory compromise and infections, stable neurological disorders, diabetes mellitus, dehydration, and dysfunction of the gastrointestinal system. Candidates will participate in patient/family teaching and provide leadership by working cooperatively with members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Additionally, they will mentor new employees and participate in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities. Two years of independent cardiac device (pacemakers and/ defibrillators) follow-up, analysis and reprogramming experience or IBHRE certification. The qualified RN will cross-train to circulate, monitor and scrub for invasive procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult catheterization and electrophysiology cases and function in the Charge Nurse role after completion of orientation. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Requirements include current CA RN license, ACLS, BCLS, PALS and 2-3 years RN experience. Critical Care experience strongly recommended. Special Procedures/Cardiac Cath Lab experience, preferred in diagnostic and interventional adult and pediatric cases. Electrophysiology --experience in cardiac electrical mapping, ablations and device implantation. Taking call for emergency procedures evenings, nights, weekends with an expected 30 minute maximum response/arrival time and the ability to work prolonged hours in a procedure setting with x-ray exposure is also required.

•Determine health status and health needs of patients with emphasis on the patient receiving invasive, diagnostic and interventional procedures. •Interpretation of health data, including ECG and hemodynamic monitoring data. •Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for patients undergoing invasive cardiovascular procedures. •Formulate a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnosis / identified problems and age specific / developmental needs. •Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice including but not limited to pacemakers / AICD / PCD, hemodynamic active IV drugs, basic and advance rhythm disturbances.Requirements:Current Texas RN license, BLS and ACLS is required. Minimum of one-year experience in acute care hospital within the last three years is required.
