The Congenital Heart Center at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a qualified cardiac surgical physician assistant or pediatric nurse practitioner to join their team of seven pediatric cardiologists, five pediatric cardiac intensivists, eight nurse practitioners and two pediatric cardiac surgeons. St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center is the only facility in the region (and one of a few in North America) that provides a continuum of cardiac care from prenatal diagnosis through childhood, adolescence, and adulthood for individuals with congenital heart disease. The Congenital Heart Surgical program has some of the best outcomes in the in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons national database. A designated 24 bed pediatric cardiothoracic unit was opened last summer and is unique to the southwest. Responsibilities: First assisting in the operating room with complex congenital cases; placement and removal of chest tubes and lines; pre-operative and post-operative assessment of surgical patients; assisting with management of patients in the intensive care unit as needed; maintenance of surgical database. Previous experience in congenital heart disease is preferred. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working person to join our team.
