The Birthing Center at Alice Peck Day Health Systems is looking for a registered nurse to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess the following: - Knowledge of medications and the correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.- Follow the six medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.- Performs patient care using an integrated approach that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.- Ability to formulate an individual plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patients response to treatment and evaluate overall plan for effectiveness.- Communicate clinical information appropriately to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patients needs. Collaborates with all ancillary departments.- Coordinate and supervises patient care, as necessary.- Demonstrate an ability to organize and prioritize job function.- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.- Perform physical/psychosocial assessment to collect data; follow the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines.- Utilize assessment data to identify patient care needs, to include patient education and discharge planning.- Recognize and report abnormal assessment data and incorporates findings into the plan of care: validates and revises expected outcomes based on assessment.- Accurately document all patient care activities as per documentation standards of the unit. Continual review to learn how to improve on documentation skills.- Delegate tasks to the health care team members appropriately.
