Duties: This position functions as a Staff Nurse in the Medical/Surgical Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Program. The professional nurse utilizes knowledge of nursing practice to provide care to patients in their home. Responsibilities consist of but are not limited to; antibiotic therapy and woundcare; support to patients and their families; educating them and providing symptom management and other supportive measures. Provides appropriate care and emotional support to the terminally ill patient; monitors new medication regime and its compliance; educates and provides follow up treatment for diabetic patients; documents assessment data, providing case findings and case management. The majority of time will be spent in the community caring for patients in their homes. Qualification Requirements: Current unrestricted RN License/Registration. BSN preferred. Medical and Surgical clinical nursing experience: minimum of two years. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Demonstrated evidence of dependability in work and attendance. Demonstrated evidence of accurate assessment & documentation skills. Must have a current and unrestricted driver´s license. Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.

The Bronx VA Medical Center has immediate opportunities for Registered Nurses for its Adult combined twenty (20) bed Intensive Care unit. BSN and MSN preferred with at least 2 years of medical/surgical experience. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with others, good assessment,observation and documentation skills. Current Basic Life Support/Advanced Life Support preferred. All candidates must be citizens of the United States, graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the approriate State accrediting agency, have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a state, territory, or commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia and proficient in spoken and written English.
