The Patient Services Division at CVPH Medical Center is embarking on an exciting transformation to a 24/7 leadership team on each of our medical surgical inpatient units over the next 18 months. We recognize that the key to assuring quality, safety, and satisfaction for our patients and staff is to assure a consistent and high performing leadership team every day and every shift. To accomplish this, we are recruiting additional Clinical Coordinators for a number of units and shifts to create a true 24/7 leadership team. The enlarged unit team will be composed of a Director, a Clinical Practice Coordinator, a day Clinical Coordinator, and 2 evening and 2 night Clinical Coordinators. Once all the positions for a unit are filled we are providing an evidence based, 2 day team leadership development program with continued follow-up programs. Our goal is to focus on building a high performing leadership team through continuous professional development and the use of common leadership language, tools, and skills. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with the Unit Director and other discipline Requirements: Registered Professional Nurse in New York State Minimum of two years clinical experience determined by Vice President or Associate Vice President BSN / BS or BA or active enrollment in coursework toward BSN or the completion of within five years. Certification in relevant specialty preferred or active involvement in completion of 1 year Demonstrated leadership abilities with good written and oral communication skills Meets requirements of physical/preemployment screening. CVPH Medical Center 75 Beekman St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 800-562-7301, HR@cvph.org www.cvph.org Our three Medical / Surgical Units: R-5 / ONCOLOGY R-5 is a 43-bed medical/surgical unit designated as the inpatient medical oncology service. However, newly diagnosed diabetics, patients with lung problems and hematological disorders are also treated here. Approximately one half to two thirds of the patients are admitted needing chemotherapy, radiation therapy or assistance with pain control. For some patients, care is designed to be curative while for others, such as Hospice patients, care is palliative. For all patients, the goal is to maximize each patients quality of life. R-6 / ORTHOPEDIC / NEUROLOGIC R-6 is a 39-bed medical/surgical unit with a focus on providing care to orthopedic and neurologically impaired patients. State-of-the-art technology assists the staff in caring for these patients, many of whom have multi-system disease. The development and implementation of clinical pathways has enhanced collaboration between members of the care team, resulting in highly comprehensive patient care in a cost-effective manner. R-7 / UROLOGIC / NEPHROLOGIC / GYNECOLOGIC R-7 has a maximum capacity of 43 patients and provides care for urological and renal (including those undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis). Patients admitted with other medical and surgical problems such as pneumonia, congestive heart failure, vascular complications and diabetes are also cared for on R-7., as well the unit handles many transfers from our Intensive care unit. The staff consults with professionals from all health care fields to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care is provided each patient.
