Qualifications Education and experience: BSN required, BLS and PALS certification required Experience: Must have minimum of 3 -5 years of inpatient pediatric nursing experience, previous supervisory experience helpful Physical Requirements Ability to Perform Essential Functions of the Job Job Overview Confidentiality, teamwork, strong communication, customer service skills, conflict resolution and accountability. Performs charge responsibilities for a 24 bed primary pulmonary unit. Possess superior clinical knowledge and has working knowledge of care coordination, patient progression, bed board and patient placement. Promotes a positive work environment and encourages teamwork to provide high standards of patient care and quality customer service. Demonstrates visibility through leader rounding with patients, families, and staff. Directly supervises 15 - 20 staff and are responsible for completing evaluations and initiating corrective measures. Responsible for identifying areas of employee performance that need improvement, effective counseling and taking appropriate disciplinary action when necessary. Guides and supports staff development. Selected candidate must participate in strategic planning through attendance at leadership team meetings and at leadership development classes and retreats. Participates in departmental and housewide committees, projects, and initiatives. Supports financial goals of the department. This position reports to the Clinical Manager.
