Twenty-four hour accountability for assessing and meeting the clinical education needs of the clinical staff. The educator collaborates, consults and partners with other units, departments, and throughout the organization in meeting identified educational needs and requirements including regional development. Conducts and completes regular learning-needs assessments and uses the analyzed data to develop educational programs and instructional modules for the assigned unit staff. Graduate of accredited nursing program. BSN required. Masters degree in nursing/education with CNS emphasis preferred. Minimum 4 years pediatric nursing experience in area of expertise.Functions as key resource in promoting and supporting staff with professional practice and development (i.e. Professional Practice Program, Critical Care Internship Program, PALS, ENCP, TNCC, CPN, Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse licensure required APON). BLS-C required. Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by department. PALS certification within 6 months from hire. BLS, PALS Instructor highly preferred.
