An assignment now exists on the Countys MAP team for: CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT Temporary$9.75 HourlyCertified Medical Assistants will assist licensed medical staff in a clinical setting by providing various client/patient services. Front office duties include greeting/registering patients, assisting them with completion of necessary paperwork, gathering basic health related information, maintaining medical charts and providing basic administrative/clerical support. Back office duties include preparing patients for examination, assist with collection of non-invasive specimens, collecting/recording patient data and performing routine clinical procedures in support of Physicians, RNs and other authorized medical staff.This position requires a minimum of six months experience performing basic administrative or clinical duties, preferably in a physician/dental office, hospital or health center. The qualified applicant will have a high school diploma or equivalent with a valid Medical Assistant certificate in basic administrative or clinical professional specialties from a school recognized by the American Association of Medical Assistants or American Society for Medical Technology. A valid certification in Phlebotomy and Basic Cardiac Life Support/Cardio-Respiratory Resuscitation (BCLS/CPR) is required. Excellent administrative, organizational and verbal/written communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to maintain good relations with a wide range of social, ethnic and professional groups. Bilingual (English/Spanish) would be a plus and a valid California Driver License may be required.All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of both a pre-employment physical exam, including a drug/alcohol test, and a criminal background investigation, which involves fingerprinting.
