Nurse Practitioner - NeurosurgeryFull-time, Monday through Friday, day shiftThe section of Neurosurgery is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to serve the inpatient needs of the Section and work closely with the inpatient nursing staff in coordinating care for patients admitted with neurological disease requiring surgery. The NP serves as the main contact person for the neurosurgery section, coordinating inpatient clinical care, working closely with the inpatient nursing staff and providing education and support to patients and their families. The NP rounds on inpatients, monitors patient progress and reports to faculty and house staff as they jointly care for patients. This position will also have outpatient, ED, and OR commitments--not just inpatient. The NP also liaisons with referring physicians and helps make sure community needs for neurosurgical services is being met. The NP is fully integrated into section functions including monthly faculty meetings, teaching and research projects when applicable. This position holds a faculty appointment, at the Instructor level, with the Dartmouth Medical School.Requirements for Nurse Practitioners:RN and ARNP currently (or eligible) licensed in NH.
