Responsibilities: -Supervises and assists staff in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. -Assists the Department Head in directing the development and evaluation of nursing personnel. -Assists the Department Head in preparing and maintaining the operational aspect of the unit. -Participates in professional organizations and activities which promote growth and development. -Supports Nursing/Hospital philosophy, objectives, and mission. -Manages the Nursing Unit in the absence of the Department Head. Qualifications: -Graduate of accredited school of nursing (B.S. in nursing preferred)-Current Georgia license to practice as a registered nurse.-Minimum of 2-3 years of Charge Nurse Experience in Labor and Delivery/APU-Minimum of 5 years L&D/APU experience-Previous experience at a Level III facility (preferably non-teaching)Mandatory Certifications:-BLS-NPR-ACLS (current)-Advance or Intermediate AWHONN Fetal monitor Course within the last 2 years-Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring and/or Inpatient OB preferredExperience in the following areas:-PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) or Surgical patient recovery experience -Initial Newborn Care (Apgar scoring/medication)-Circulate Surgical Cases-Vaginal Exams-Placement of Internal Scalp Electordes-IV Therapy (phlebotomy)-Antepartum/High Risk Intrapartum-Assist with Epidural placementShift: Evening/Night (7p-7a) and every third weekend
